Review of 33 spider apps
Out of sheer frustration at not finding a game I liked, I downloaded 33 spider solitaire apps to sort thru & review.
At first glance I thought this game would be perfect for me. After playing a few games I can see this is not "the one". Here is what this one is missing:
- Tap to move does NOT make intelligent choices. For example when I tap an Ace♠️ , it is moved onto a 2♥️, when the clear choice would be a 2♠️ of which there are two open. Even when I tap multiple times, the Ace♠️ goes back and forth between the two 2♥️ and will not move to a 2♠️ unless I move it manually. That is just silly.
- There is not hint button. It is not essential, but I prefer to have one and about 75% of the spider haves have one.
- When reaching the end of a game that is not winnable or at least no moves are left, nothing happens. No pop-up that says "game over" or "play again?" etc.
On the positive side:
- Has nice graphics
- Cards are easy to tap & move smoothly.
- Has several choices for cards & background
- Has Game Center integration as an option
Rating for appearance is 5⭐️.
Rating for functionality of play 2-3⭐️.
I always feel badly when I give a less than optimal rating for an app because I imagine a lot of time & effort was put into making it & getting it in the App Store. I just cant justify giving this more than 3⭐️. Devs if you are reading this: fix the issues above and you will have a 5⭐️ app, one that I would be willing to pay for ad removal.
